This paper aims to describe the status of land reform in Cambodia by looking at the
background information, general approaches and basic types of land reform from the
world’s views and experience, and the efforts taken thus far on land reform in Cambodia.
The paper also reflects on key elements, principles, good and bad experiences,
innovations, achievements and challenges around the issues of Cambodia’s land reform. It
also touches on theories and practices of land reform, and provides future perspectives on
Cambodia’s land reform, such as Comprehensive Land Policy Framework, Spatial
Planning Policy, Land Consolidation, etc. Last but not least, the paper also explains the
different approaches for the Cambodian land sector reform.
The attached document describes the critical nature of property rights for women and how these rights can enhance women's dignity, security, and freedom.
This resource was released by the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI) at the International Workshop on Gender and Forest Tenure in Asia and Collective Forest Tenure Reform in China shows that despite more understanding, more resources, and policy recommendations, women continue to be largely marginalized and ignored or exploited in community based resource management processes throughout Asia. This research provides the most comprehensive continent wide analysis on the status of forest tenure rights and gender rights. This is a collection of briefs and case studies. This is an expert paper prepared for the UN WOMEN expert group meeting "Good Practices in Realizing Women's Rights to Productive Resources, with a focus on Land" in Geneva, Switzerland 25-27 June 2012.
